Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)
The cornerstone of glaucoma management is intra-ocular pressure lowering and this had traditionally been achieved with medications, laser and surgery (usually in that order). Whilst these treatments can be very effective, they are far from perfect due to the potential side-effects, cost, inconvenience and impact on quality of life.
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) is a treatment option that aims to address some of these issues and therefore reduce the burden of treatment overall. The purpose of this presentation is to provide an update on the latest developments with respect to MIGS and increase awareness of it’s role in glaucoma management.
