✨ About the speaker ✨
Jamie Craig is a Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor at Flinders University and a Senior Consultant at Flinders Medical Centre. Named ‘South Australian Scientist of the Year’ in 2024, he is also an NHMRC Level 3 Investigator Grant holder. His research focuses on the molecular genetics of blinding eye conditions, including glaucoma, congenital cataract, and diabetic retinopathy.
Professor Craig established and leads two national ophthalmic disease registries—ANZRAG (for advanced glaucoma) and RADAR (for diabetic retinopathy)—which have contributed to the discovery of disease-causing and disease-associated genes, influenced clinical practices, and improved patient outcomes.
Professor Craig has published over 440 peer-reviewed articles and co-founded Seonix Bio, a company commercializing a polygenic risk profiling saliva test for glaucoma.
